What a way to start the new year, photos have been circulating online at various outlets revealing what the Supra will look like when it is officially unveiled at the North American International Auto Show Detroit this month (January).
Toyota’s own Gazoo Racing, released this teaser on the 31st of December:
Gazoo is Toyota’s own brand sports car division which all new sports cars will be developed and released.
Official specs are still mostly under wraps however a few leaks, particularly a scanned copy of a Japanese magazine on supramkv.com, says the new Supra is 4.38m long, 1.86m wide and 1.29m tall, with a 2.47m wheelbase. There is also speculation that the core engine for the Spura will be around 300hp and that it ‘might’ feature a 2.0 turbo unit shared with the platforms twin, the new BMW Z4.
Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada expects this new MKV to be a ‘tuner’ favourite, so we cannot wait to see what mental creations come out on the ‘scene’.
Thanks to SupraMKV.com for originally releasing these from what is believed to be Toyota Germany as the original source.
The front end looks very reminiscent of the now legendary MK4. We hope this can recapture some of the glory days and revitalise the modified car scene, The Nissan GTR was pretty much out of the box ready to slay all in its path, the Toyota GT86 has become a favourite to add more power and develop into ‘individual’ cars, let’s brace ourselves for some Supra Lunacy.
